Shenandoah National Park Appalachian Trail- Panorama/Mary’s Rock to Beahm’s Gap

February 21, 2026
Panorama/Mary’s Rock to Beahm’s Gap
We had a 6-week hiatus due to Winter Storm Fern and Hernando. It was nice to finally
get back out and continue onto our goal. We did not have any residual snow or ice on
this section of the trail. The Park had put out an early text alert (text SHENALERTS to
888777) that the Park was closing at 5 PM this evening due to incoming weather, so we
knew we were going to be unable to come out Sunday.
We started at Panorama/Mary’s Rock parking lot and ended at Beahm’s Gap (mile
marker 28). We crossed over US Route 211 and headed up the steady ascent to the
Pass Mountain trail marker. We stopped for our snack and water break and had a nice
view of the Valley below. We took a short snack and water break and
continued a well-maintained path to Beahm’s Gap.

Stats- 3.58 miles/879’ elevation gain
